Evil Queen Red Dress Once Upon A Time

One of the most difficult parts of creating Lana Parrilla's Evil Queen dress was finding the perfect fabric. The majority of the dress is made out of a red and black floral brocade with red and black organza for the sleeves. I also used black taffeta for part of the skirt. Here is a picture of the fabric below.

The first step was making the lining for the dress. It was also a great way to test out the fit of the pattern.

Then it was time to put the dress together. Here is a picture from the first time I tried it on.

After I had a made few adjustments to the dress I put on the sparkles! I had to hand sew the applique and then I glue gunned silver and gold sequins onto the sleeves and applique. This step took probably took the most time.

Finally I was finished the dress!
